The first pilot school in the village of El Palmar, “l’Ecole des Jeunes Pousses” (School of Young Shoots), whose agroecology curriculum is now sustainable and financially independent, was recently selected by the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture as one of five schools in the country to implement the national agroecology policy. A real success for the project led by Filotopie!
Building on the success of this first project, in 2025 the association will begin rolling out its innovative model in a second school. Among a dozen candidate schools, the school in the village of El Martillo, in the heart of the Zenú indigenous community, was selected.
Through the implementation of this curriculum, the 490 students will be able to reconnect with ancestral agricultural knowledge and learn about agroecology, benefiting the entire community.
We are continuing our support for this promising second project, which restores meaning to school learning in this agricultural region.
