Discover the association

A school for everyone

The Shechem School welcomes children from the village of Somone who were not integrated into the school system, particularly those whose parents could not afford to pay for school.

Conception Lopez, the founder of this school and association, wanted to help the children of this coastal village by giving them access to quality education.

In 2021 and 2022, we supported the construction and equipping of four additional classrooms in the school.

Our support has accelerated the school’s development and enabled it to welcome children from nursery school to Year 6. The children are thus supported throughout their schooling and have a solid foundation that will enable them to pass the entrance exams for secondary school.

A group of Maped employees volunteered to travel to the school in June 2021 and March 2022 to finalise the decoration of the classrooms so that they would be ready to welcome the children.

School supplies and water bottles were also transported to the site in their luggage.

This first project marks the beginning of a genuine partnership between Maped and Shechem.
