Located in the Ambohidratrimo neighborhood, 15 km from Antananarivo, the Clovis Arthur School was created to welcome children from this very poor neighborhood who are often excluded from the school system.
In order to ensure the long-term future of this street school, which began in a rented house, a plot of land was purchased in 2023 with a view to constructing a building that would be owned by the school.
The school was able to open its doors at the start of the 2025 school year and welcome its 375 students in ideal conditions, but it also includes a library that is open to other schools in the municipality! This is a huge advantage for children in a country where 25% of the population cannot read.
Alongside the Adiflor association, we are proud to have contributed to this wonderful humanitarian project, which is run on a voluntary basis by Nadia and Marc Houry.
The building was constructed according to strict plans that meet government standards.
Classrooms will welcome students under ideal conditions.
The children are thrilled to be joining their new school.
